NBA Finals 2017

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors, Episode 3.

  • In 2015, the Warriors defeated the Cavaliers to win the NBA Finals, 4 games to 2.
  • In 2016, the Cavaliers defeated the Warriors to win the NBA Finals, 4 games to 3.
  • In 2017, who knows what will happen?

LeBron James, the best basketball player in the world, leads the Cleveland Cavaliers into the NBA Finals in 2017 against the Golden State Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. No doubt both teams have many, many other superstars. For Cleveland, either Kyrie Irving or Kevin Love has the potential to lead the team in scoring on any given night. For Golden State, Draymond Green is a dominating force all over the court.

It should be a good series. I have not watched enough basketball games this year to be able to predict the winner. I’ve been too busy on other things, including coaching high school lacrosse this spring, serving as a pastor at Hebron, and spending time with my family. But I will try to watch some of the games and see what happens. So far in these playoffs, the Cavaliers and Warriors have totally dominated their opponents.

The rivalry between the Cavaliers and the Warriors reminds me somewhat of the Lakers vs Celtics from a few decades ago. Magic vs Bird. Kareem vs Parrish. Worthy vs McHale. Thompson (Michael, Klay’s father) vs Ainge. And a host of other superstars.

And then came a guy named Michael Jordan.
