4 Years Ago in Vancouver: A Day-by-Day Journal of My Experience as a Chaplain at the Olympic Games

With today being the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, I’m remembering the opportunity the Lord opened up for me to serve as a chaplain during the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. There was so much the Lord did there in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

The Bible says this in Psalm 77:11-12…

I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.

It’s good to look back from time-to-time and remember the great things the Lord has done! If you’d like to read any of the day-by-day journal entries, I’ve listed the links below. You’ll read about:

  • Serving with chaplains from all over the world
  • Ministering to the team from the Republic of Georgia after a fatal accident in a training run
  • Q: “What kind of chaplain are you?” A: “The kind that sits on a couch with bobsledders to watch the cross country race on TV”
  • Much, much more

As for these 2014 Olympics, I am at home in ATL, praying and cheering for the Games. If you’d like to see what I’m praying, here is MY PRAYER.
