I enjoy writing interactive Bible studies that help you walk through a passage of Scripture, understand what it means, and then walk away from the Bible study knowing how to apply God’s Word to your life. If you’d like to see a few of them, just click on some of the Recent Posts on this site. My prayer is that these Bible studies are a blessing to you and that they help you grow as a follower of Jesus Christ.
Starting the week of September 11, I will be resuming my weekly Bible study posts. That week I will also begin teaching the chapel Bible Study at Hebron Church each Sunday evening at 5:00 PM. If you are in the Atlanta area, we’d love for you to join us. There will be great music as well as a time for us to dive into God’s Word together. Then, on Monday or Tuesday of each week, I will post the Bible study here on this site.
Perhaps you know someone who would like to receive these Bible studies via email. If so, forward this post to them. Then, all they need to do is come to the website derekspain.wordpress.com and under the Email Subscription area enter their email address and click “Sign me up.”
May the Lord teach you richly through His Word and lead you to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
BONUS: Here’s a couple of verses that I came across today. One is from Leviticus and one is from Mark. They go incredibly well together. I pray they are a blessing to you. See if you can see the promise that God makes in Leviticus (1500 years before Jesus was born) and how the promise is fulfilled in Christ.
Leviticus 26:12 (HCSB)
12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.
Mark 2:13 (HCSB)
13 Then Jesus went out again beside the sea. The whole crowd was coming to Him, and He taught them.
Did you see it? God promised to walk among them, to be their God, and that they will be His people. Of course He did that in some amazing ways throughout the Old Testament. But, the most clear, most amazing way that He has done that is by the incarnation, coming to earth and walking among us as a man. Jesus was God-in-the-flesh!
Promise fulfilled.

My husband and I are working in the jail ministry. One of the most important points we try to instill on the participants is the presence of the Lord. It’s rewarding to see their faith blossom, in some cases. For some it is their first exposure to the Word.
May the Lord continue to bless you in your ministry.
