NCAA Football National Championship

Alabama vs Oklahoma. Clemson vs Notre Dame. One of these four teams will become the NCAA football national champion this season.

For more than thirty years, I have been a fan of Notre Dame. I’m a realistic fan but a fan nonetheless. I’m rooting for them to defeat Clemson then take on the Alabama/Oklahoma winner for the title.

Clemson had three players to test positive for banned substances this week. One was a key defensive lineman. That may help the Irish.

Clemson’s quarterback is very good, and so is Ian Book for Notre Dame. The QB play in the game will be a factor, no doubt.

In the other semifinal match up, Alabama’s starting QB Tua Tagovailoa has an injured ankle, but their backup QB Jalen Hurts was last year’s starter and also led the Crimson Tide in their victory over my other favorite team the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC championship game.

Oklahoma’s QB Kyler Murray won the Heisman trophy this year, so obviously he’s a player. No one is giving Oklahoma much of a chance, but perhaps the Sooners will get it done.

Looking forward to watching some good college football over the next couple of weeks.

Go Irish!
